What is Straight Up Motherhood?

“”What is Straight Up Motherhood? Aside from the ramblings of a small town mama whose number one goal in life is to raise her tiny humans into amazing adults, it’s a place where I can share my thoughts on all the things close to my heart. My hope is that there are other mamas out there like me, who can connect to my stories and know that there’s a place in this World of Motherhood for the ‘In Betweens’ like us. You see, I’m not the perfect mama who always remembers to send in the classroom snacks when she’s supposed to. But I will absolutely make butterfly snack bags out of clothespins and zip lock baggies when I do remember. I’m not the mama who has the care free attitude and lets her kiddos eat dirt because it’s natural. Not quite crunchy granola, but definitely not one of the idgaf-ers. So where does that land us? In the in between.

My name is Krysta Mata. I am 27 years old. Pretty stinkin’ close to thirty and no, I don’t wanna talk about it. I have a pretty awesome husband of 10 years and three of the most amazing kiddos in the whole wide world. Two boys ages 6 and 8, and a little diva age 2. All of their names start with M like their daddy. Cute or obnoxious? I’m not sure. I live in small town Ohio, where we have one small market, a few local businesses and the cutest boutique store around. Everyone knows about everyone. And the closest grocery store is close enough to grocery shop but far enough that we’re eating hot dogs on hamburger buns cause “I ain’t going back!”.

The majority of my blog posts will be about my personal navigation through motherhood. I am a die hard sports mama. My boys play pretty much every sport available to them, but we are partial to wrestling. Who am I kidding? We’re wrestling obsessed around here. My husband coaches youth sports, and that comes with it’s own set of challenges. As well as being a coaches wife. My little girl is a strong willed, intelligent, sassy little monster. She loves all things sparkly and princess but she wants to be a big time quarterback. I’m obsessed with her spirit! I am currently the vice president on our local schools PTO board and I love to be involved in the community. I also struggle with not really liking people. Like, at all. It’s a give and take.

I am so glad you’ve found the time to read my blog. I hope my posts find you well! Thank you for joining me on my journey through momsville. For all of us in-betweens, this is Straight Up Motherhood, yo!
